Surface treatments or metal finishes are treatments that are done to metal pieces that will protect said pieces and their machining<\/strong> of precision<\/strong> from rusting and corrosion. In many cases the processes of mechanized<\/strong> of precision<\/strong> They need these treatments since they tend to rust and it is advisable to protect the metal pieces to avoid this.<\/p>\n

From Mec\u00e1nica Curiel we are going to see the most frequent treatments used in mechanized<\/strong> of precision<\/strong> of our company Barcelona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Zinc plated<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This treatment or finish covers the metal piece with zinc to protect it from oxidation and corrosion. It is a type of surface treatment that improves the visual appearance of the piece, it is a finish that beautifies it.<\/p>\n

There is normal zinc plating, black zinc plating, dichromated zinc plating and olive green zinc plating.<\/p>\n

chrome plated<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chrome plating is a treatment based on electrolysis where a layer of metallic chrome is deposited on metal parts, although it is also a treatment or finish for plastics. This type of treatment is used to protect parts from corrosion, to improve their appearance and performance.<\/p>\n

Shiny chrome is used to improve the appearance of some objects and add embellishment.<\/p>\n

Nickel plated<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It is a metallic nickel coating, made by electrolysis that is given to metals to increase their resistance to oxidation and corrosion.<\/p>\n

There is matte nickel plating and bright nickel plating.<\/p>\n

Blued<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It is a treatment that consists of applying a surface layer of polished oxide that covers the steel pieces to improve their appearance and thus prevent corrosion.<\/p>\n

There are two bluing methods, acidic and alkaline.<\/p>\n

Galvanized<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It is a treatment carried out by an electrochemical process that is based on covering one metal with another. Its function is to protect the surfaces of the metal on which the process was carried out.<\/p>\n

It is also a treatment used for decorative pieces such as buckles, key chains or jewelry.<\/p>\n

Anodized<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It can only be made in aluminum and is an electrochemical process that improves the aesthetic finish and mechanical properties.<\/p>\n

Anticorrosive paint<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The anticorrosive paint fulfills the function of inhibiting the oxidation of the material, in addition to providing a surface with the necessary conditions to later be treated with other finishes.<\/p>\n
