Machining company: Types of machining

In a machining company, there are, as in many other fields, different methods to achieve this. By using the right machinery, more conventional or the latest and latest CNC machined tools, you can get to do incredible “wonders”. All of them, following three systems of execution:
- Machining without chip removal
All metal parts, except castings, are at some point in their manufacture subjected to at least one metal forming operation (manufacturing processes in which the deformation is used to change the shape of the metal parts).
- Machining with chip removal
As the name indicates, in machining with chip removal, the material is torn or cut with the tool giving rise to these useless waste. In this operational methodology, thinning processes are given, the first step in rapidly eliminating large amounts of material, but with little precision; And finishing, final step for the removal of the rest of the material with great precision to finish the manufacture of the piece.

- Abrasion Machining
The method of machining by abrasion is based on the removal of material by wearing the part. In this way, particles of material are dislodged, most of the time, incandescent. This process is performed by the tool par excellence of this type of machining: the grinding wheel. A way to remove material by “scratching” the surface of the piece. In favor of this technique, we could say that it requires less force to remove the material and its accuracy and surface finish are guaranteed, but on the contrary, the estimated time in production to be efficient is long.
All methods are useful according to the function they have to perform. Each machining company, according to its task, must determine what are, or will be, the methodologies to be used in the manufacture of its parts.
