Hello everyone, and welcome one more day to our space dedicated to the information of mechanized, here in Mechanics Curiel, specialized in CNC machining in Barcelona. Today we are going to tell you about the importance of the cutting temperature that is reached during the manufacturing process of the different CNC machining in Barcelona. This factor is one of the limitations in any cutting process.

The influence of temperature on CNC machining Barcelona

During the process of CNC machining in Barcelona, the power consumed in the cutting of the part is distributed between the different existing frictions and the plastic deformation of the resulting chip. These works are transformed into heat which increases the temperature of the chip, the part and finally, the tool used in the cut. The latter loses resistance as the temperature increases, resulting in increased wear and, therefore, a decrease in its useful life. At the same time, if the workpiece is overheated, the properties of the material may be affected and / or modified, making machining accuracy more difficult because the workpiece is dilated hot and contracted at room temperature.

Cutting fluids

We have already seen what effects can cause the temperature rise when we are machining a piece, now we will see how we can counter or avoid these negative effects on the finish of the piece. And at this point is where the cutting fluids in CNC machining in Barcelona are particularly important. Mainly, these fluids have two functions: cooling and lubricating. The cooling reduces the cutting temperatures and allows to work at a faster speed, avoiding the possible problems arising from an increase of temperature at a faster production speed. The lubrication is achieved when the cutting fluid is interposed between the chip and the tool, reducing the frictional force and avoiding the reaming of the cutting edge. To these fluids we call taladrines that contain reagents that adhere to the surface to lubricate facilitating the sliding, decreasing the friction and, therefore, reducing the cutting temperature.
