In the process of manufacturing machining for use in the laboratory, many elements intervene, from the machines that are used, to the operators, the materials, through delivery times, audits, supplies, etc. Also, machining series are usually manufactured for use in the laboratory, although it is also possible to manufacture totally customized single pieces, or to make families of pieces grouped according to their characteristics. But for machining to be used in the laboratory to meet quality and cost objectives, the entire process must be planned beforehand.

Phases of planning

In Mechanics Curiel we wanted to establish five different phases that group the different elements that take part in the manufacture of a piece. The first stage is production planning, at this stage a list of all the pieces to be produced is drawn up, with the quantity of each one and the delivery period. In the second phase, we proceed to plan the orders. A balance sheet is made where the activities to be carried out are planned to comply with the production plan, taking into account the supplies, materials, labor, among others, that are needed to produce the machining. Afterwards a capacity planning is done, here the schedules and sequences of the work are established, the cost is fixed, the dead times of the machine tools are reduced and the target is set to comply with the delivery dates. From this phase we go to the planning of processes where the processes involved in the final fabrication of the part are defined in detail, and we end with the planning of operations where the documentation is defined and a record is made of the operation where all are collected The details of it.
